It was a sad week last week at Cooper Ridge Farm when I had to say goodbye to my herd queen, Hope. She has been with me for almost 16 years. She was born on a cold day in February to a doe who wouldn't accept her. A friend called me and asked if I wanted her. When I picked her up that evening, she was still covered in dried gunk. She had a B-12 shot and a small bit of colostrum. She came home in a cardboard box and was unable to stand up. I put her beside the wood stove and tried several times to get her to suck a goat bottle filled with...

My goat milk soaps are made from my own raw goat's milk. I use only palm, soybean, olive, canola and safflower oils, goat milk, sodium hydroxide, glycerin and essential oils with herbs or flowers from my own garden to keep them as natural as I can. Goat milk soaps are very high in proteins, vitamins and minerals which make them excellent for delicate complexions. I make them one small batch at a time in my own kitchen so you get the best soap possible. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I enjoy making them.

All the outside vegetables, flowers and herb beds are being cleaned, mulched and prepared for winter. Here at Cooper Ridge Farm, we have a lot of work going on. Feels like we are racing Mother Nature!

The hay has been baled and stored in the barn for the goats to feed on this winter. The hay they waste will then be moved to the chicken coop for nesting and dry scratching material all winter.

The greenhouse is up and the beds are planted with winter crops. I'm hoping for fresh salad all winter, along with some other experiments!

I have lots of fond memories about Father's Day when I was growing upl  We always farmed and my dad worked for MODOT for 31 years, so we had to do 'farm chores' on the weekends!  Since my mom's birthday was the 15th, mine the 16th, and Father's Day always fell somewhere close to that, we celebrated all of it together.  Many, many years we were in the middle of the hay fields at that time!  "HEY -  the cows have to eat too! "

If not tied up doing hay we would load the trailer full of picnic stuff (from out pantry...

New month, new season, means new items at Cooper Ridge Country Store and Cooper Ridge Farm!
First, meet our newest addition to the farm -- Jasper!

Next -- new items for our Country Store! How about some floral jellies to go on your morning toast?

I am currently making these jellies in my kitchen but because some flowers only bloom for a short period and I only pick what I grow because mine are pesticide-free, some of these jellies are very limited quantities.

So, if you see something you would like to try, you should grab it now! The 8 o...

Good Morning!

First, I would like my past customers from the Bentonville Farmers Market to know that I won't be there selling my fabulous goat milk soaps and lotions this year.

Second, I want you to know that you can still find them locally.  They are always at Allen's Foods in Bella Vista, War Eagle Mill in Rogers, The Jane Store in Jane, Missouri, and Rags To Riches Flea Market in Anderson, MO.  I am currently trying to find a location in Bentonville that would like to carry my products and I will keep you posted on that.

I am busy maki...

Well, the gardens are slowing way down due to the hot weather, lack of rain, and shorter days.  The pantry and freezers are full.  We are battling the deer in the garden right now but don't want to scare them too much as we also depend on them for some winter meat.  The goats are about dry and getting ready for fall .  I always have lots of milk frozen up to keep me in soap making during the winter months.

The Farmers Market (Bentonville, AR), runs through October 28th, so we still have several markets left this year.  It's...
